SafetyVantage Inc. announces the launch of its industry leading Fall Protection online course!
Working at heights is still one on the most dangerous hazards that Canadian workers face on a daily basis. Over 42,000 workers are injured annually due to workplace fall incidents, and on average, 40% of construction fatalities are due to falls. An estimated $180,000,000 in injury costs can be saved by reducing workplace falls by just 5%, a small change to programs and training can make a huge difference. In the wake of the 2016 sentencing of a construction project manager to 3½ years in prison for his role in a scaffolding collapse that resulted in four fatalities in 2009, provincial governments are clamping down on work at heights and fall protection violations.
The SafetyVantage Fall Protection course was designed and developed specifically to assist organizations with compliance, to mitigate fall hazards in the workplace and to ensure the safety of employees. The Fall Protection course is forward-looking and aligned with both federal and provincial legislation across Canada, and maintains industry best practices. Working at heights training in Fall Protection is required by law for anyone who works at elevations. This course educates workers on fall protection equipment, legislation, safe work procedures, and fall rescue.
