The Qualified Health & Safety Officer (QHSO™) is an accredited designation, developed by the Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships (AASP), to provide individuals with a career development path in the field of Occupational Health & Safety.
The University of Alberta’s Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Certificate Program honours student who possess the Qualified Health & Safety Officer (QHSO™) professional designation by granting 21 hours exemption credit towards the OH&S Certificate Program requirements.

To receive the Qualified Health & Safety Officer (QHSO™) designation you will have to completed the ten (10) mandatory modules and two (2) electives from the course list below. In addition to completing the 12 online training courses you must also complete the AASP “Internal Auditor Training” (only available IN-CLASS through www.AASP.ca), and passed an overall comprehensive exam with a minimum of 70%.
