This expansive supervisory-level course is designed to help learners to define fatigue, understand it, and manage it. It also explains the different fatigue causes, how to identify fatigue symptoms, fatigue’s impact on the workforce, and the personal and workplace factors that contribute to it. It also includes the different techniques, tools, and equipment you can use to assess and manage workplace fatigue based on fatigue science, including fatigue severity scales and other fatigue assessment tools.
The learning objectives of this course are to teach the participants about fatigue and how to manage it effectively through understanding the following:

- Understanding fatigue impairment in the workplace
- The five primary workplace factors of fatigue
- Physical and mental health consequences of fatigue
- Building a business case for fatigue

To successfully complete the course, the learner has 3 attempts to achieve 80% or higher on the exam. Upon completion the learner receives a Certificate of Achievement.

The content of this course was developed by the Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships (AASP), an approved Alberta Certifying Partner, and is aligned with the standards set by the Alberta Labour Partnerships program.
This course is a:
- Mandatory course requirement for students pursuing the Quality Health & Safety Officer (QHSO)™ designation.
- AASP recommended COR courses for OH&S Leaders
