This course is for anyone who works in or around environments where Hydrogen Sulfide, or H2S, may be present. H2S is a naturally occurring toxic gas, and one that can be a by-product of industrial production.
In this course, you’ll learn in-depth details about H2S and its effects, the importance of mitigating its hazards, and how to respond effectively in the event of an incident.
Course topics include:
Defining and locating H2S
The properties of H2S
H2S roles and responsibilities
Identifying and assessing H2S hazards
Health and safety hazards
Chronic and acute exposure
Controlling H2S hazards
H2S engineering, administrative and PPE controls
First aid procedures
To successfully complete the course, learners have 3 attempts to achieve 80% or higher on the exam. Upon completion the learner receives a Certificate of Achievement that is valid for 3 years from the date of completion. Online duration subject to student capabilities.
