This course is designed to educate employees on the implications of legalized cannabis, its use, worker rights, and how cannabis use can affect the workplace and workplace safety.
While the controversies around cannabis use remain, what doesn’t is any uncertainty about it’s legalization in Canada. The 2018 change in legislation that legalizes the recreational use of cannabis has shed new light on impairment in the workplace. Because impairment presents such an overarching danger in the workplace, it’s important to know how to combat and control it effectively, especially when new impairing drugs become legal for recreational use.
Packed with industry insight, best practices, and an array of applicable information, this SafetyVantage awareness course is a robust educational primer for understanding marijuana and the concerns it brings to the workplace.
Course topics include:
Introduction to recreational marijuana and the workplace
Understanding marijuana impairment
Controlling impairment hazards
Workplace rights, roles, and responsibilities
Includes reference to Federal and Provincial legislation
To successfully complete the course, learners have 3 attempts to achieve 80% or higher on the exam. Upon completion the learner receives a Certificate of Achievement that is valid for 3 years from the date of completion.
